Cannot Find Microsoft Office in Windows 8 or 8.1

- Here are two ways to find and open Office applications in Windows 8 from the Start screen.
- On the Start screen, start typing the name of the application, such as Word or Excel. Search opens automatically as you type. In the search results, click the application to start it.
- You won’t find Office applications by searching for “Office”, so search for each app by name such as Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel.
- The other way to do it is you swipe up or click the arrow at the bottom of the Start screen to see a list of all your apps. If you have Office installed you should find it.
- Windows 8 has a new feature called Refresh that allows you to reinstall Windows while preserving your data, Windows settings, and Metro apps. The Refresh process will not restore the software that came preinstalled when you purchased PC such as Microsoft Office.
- To reinstall Microsoft Office you will have to either contact the PC manufacturer that pre-installed Office or if you have a CD and a product key, reinstall it, or if you purchased it online log into your Microsoft Account and reinstall it.
- Windows 8.1 is a free upgrade to Windows 7 that has some new features and enhanced security and performance. The upgrade process sometime may accidentally remove Microsoft Office.
