How to Uninstall Norton 360™
- Norton 360 installation or configuration files may be corrupted.
- Norton upgrade or an installation was only partially completed.
- Conflict with another security software is blocking installation.
- Login in as an administrator & close Norton 360 and all other programs and personal files.
- Click the Start button, select All Programs, open Norton 360 entry on the currently installed program list; scroll down and launch the "Uninstall Norton 360".
- Windows User Account Control pop-up may show up. Select yes, if it does.
- Norton 360 may give an uninstall preferences such as whether you want to retain old settings and data. Keep the old data and settings if you plan to reinstall Norton.
- If Norton Un-installation gives error, Go to Step 2.
- Open the “Add or Remove Program” control panel applet.
- Find Norton 360 software, select it.
- Uninstall Norton Security with Windows Installer.
- If Norton Un-installation gives error.
- Go to Step 3.
- Norton has a specialized tool called Norton Removal Tool.
- Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2003 and later products including Norton 360, from your computer. Make sure that you have the installation CDs to reinstall the product.
- Download the Norton Removal Tool & Save the file to the Windows desktop.
- On the Windows desktop, double-click the Norton Removal Tool icon. Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Restart your computer. After the computer restarts, follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall your Norton product.
