Unable to Download Norton™ Security
- Computer is facing some internet connection or networking problem.
- Proxy server is blocking the download of the Norton software.
- Conflict with another security software is blocking installation.
- Computer is infected with a virus that is blocking the download.
- Verify that your Internet connection is functioning and try your install again.
- Open a website such as www.google.com to see if the internet connection is working.
- If it is not then you may need help from your ISP or a qualified technician.
- If your computer is part of a home or office network that is connected to the internet with a common connection, the chances are your requests to the web are being routed through a proxy server.
- Open your browser say the Internet Explorer or Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
- Open the browser LAN Settings and make sure “Use proxy server for your LAN” is not selected.
- Click Apply & OK.
- Try downloading Norton software, and if it still fails go to Step 3.
- Check if you have any third-party Security or Firewall software present.
- Open the “Add or Remove Program” control panel applet.
- If you find a Non-Norton security software, select it, and uninstall it.
- Try downloading Norton software, and if it still fails go to Step 4.
- Download the Norton’s Power Eraser tool from https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/norton-download-install/current/solutions/kb20100824120155EN_EndUserProfile_en_us
- Follow the instructions to install this tool, and scan your computer for viruses, and retry downloading Norton Security software.
