Norton™ Security Installation Errors
- Norton installation or configuration files may be corrupted.
- Conflict with a previous version of Norton installed on computer.
- Conflict with another security software is blocking installation.
- Install and run the Norton Autofix tool.
- Norton Autofix automatically checks and fixes issues with the installation of your Norton product, or services that are not running optimally on your computer.
- For Norton Security or Norton Security with Backup: Click Help, and then select Get Support.
- For Norton 360 or Norton Internet Security or Norton AntiVirus: Click Support, and then select Get Support.
- Restart your computer, and try installation again. If it still fails go to Step 2.
- The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2003 and later products, Norton 360, and Norton System Works 12.0 from your computer. make sure that you have the installation CDs to reinstall the product.
- Download the Norton Removal Tool & Save the file to the Windows desktop.
- On the Windows desktop, double-click the Norton Removal Tool icon. Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Restart your computer. After the computer restarts, follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall your Norton product. If it still fails go to Step 3.
- Check if you have any third-party Security or Firewall software present.
- Open the “Add or Remove Program” control panel applet.
- If you find a Non-Norton security software, select it, and uninstall it.
- Try installing Norton software.
