Problem Description:
Norton Identity Safe gives website users a Safe Web rating for every website they visit. Norton Identity Safe is a free standalone application that runs as a plug-in with browsers such as Internet Explorer; Google Chrome; and Mozilla Firefox.

Norton Identity Safe standalone version.

Instructions for Installing Norton Identity Safe :
Step 1 : Download & Install Norton Identity Safe
  1. If you do not have Norton Identity Safe installed, go to https://identitysafe.norton.com/.
  2. Download the Norton Identity Safe program on your computer.
  3. Follow the instructions to install this program. It should not take more than a few minutes.
  4. Go to Step 3.
Step 2 : Update Norton Identity Safe
  1. If you have already installed Norton Identity Safe on your computer make sure it is updated to the latest version.
  2. Launch Norton Identity safe.
  3. Click the Settings icon at the bottom of the main window. In the Settings window, on the About tab, click Check for new updates.
  4. Run Live Update until you see the message, "Your Norton product now has the latest protection updates.
  5. Exit all the programs and restart the computer.
  6. Go to Step 3.
Step 3 : Download the Norton Toolbar extension from Chrome Web Store
  1. Start the standalone version of Norton Identity Safe.
  2. In the Norton Identity Safe window, click the Settings button.
  3. On the General tab, next to Google Chrome, click Install Extension.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the extensions.
  5. The toolbar with web protection and password management appears in the next tab that you open in Chrome.
